Kids will go Crazee at the Big Apple Comic Book, Toy, and Collectible Convention. Critically Acclaimed creator Samuel Vera will be signing copies of his entire line of children’s books as well as the Trade Paper back of his sci-fi comedy adventure series “There’s an Alien in my Toilet” only at the Big Apple Comic Con Nov 14th-16th.

Opus the existentialist penguin will shortly be no more. Creator Berkeley Breathed recently announced that the final strip of his Sunday-only comic Opus would run on November 2, 2008, and that it would mark the end of both the comic and its title character.

In issue #10, Batgirl lets loose with a couple of words you can’t say on TV. The offending words were supposed to have been blacked out, but the issue was already printed. DC Comics wanted to destroy the issue on receipt, but ….copies still made it into the hands of collectors, and now many of those ended up on eBay where prices for the suddenly-rare comic hit triple digits.

Comic illustrator Lau Wan-kit won the Gold Award at the Second International Manga Award for his comic series “Feel 100%”.

Mark Millar is already talking plans for more sequels to the film Wanted.

Millar has pretty much given up the comic book continuity of the series. In an interview with Newsarama, Millar discusses his complete disinterest in a comic follow-up to his original books.
